Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Learn how to define radar system requirements based on mission objectives.
  • Assist senior Engineers in selecting appropriate radar technologies (e.g., pulse Doppler, synthetic aperture radar).
  • Work with colleagues in designing radar hardware components (antennas, transmitters, receivers, signal processors).  
  • Learn how to use radar software for signal processing, target detection, and tracking.
  • Work with senior teams in integrating radar systems with other aircraft systems (e.g., fire control, navigation).
  • Learn how to ensure a radar’s compatibility with the aircraft’s electrical and mechanical systems
  • Learn how to optimize radar performance within the aircraft’s constraints
  • Assist in conducting laboratory and flight tests to evaluate radar performance.
  • Learn to analyse radar data to identify performance issues and implement improvements.
  • Learn how test procedures are developed and data analysis tools used
