The BMP-2 is an amphibious infantry fighting vehicle of the Indian Army.
The commander in the BMP-2 sits with the gunner in an enlarged, two-man turret. Seven troops can be carried. Two rear infantry roof hatches, and improved armor.
The welded steel turret is in the Centre of the vehicle, which seats the commander and gunner, both of whom have hatches. The commander of the Vehicle, sits to the right and has three day-vision periscopes, an infra-red searchlight, binocular sight with day magnification and night-sight magnification.
The gunner is located to the left, a rearward-facing day periscope. There are three other day periscopes facing forward and left.
The driver sits in the front left of the vehicle.
The BMP-2 is the heaviest in its class, and also has a more powerful engine than its predessor.
Important armament which is the turret with an autocannon with dual ammunition feeds. The gun has a variable rate of fire. This gives a continuous fire time of 100–150 seconds before running out of ammo.
