BRAHMOS is a supersonic cruise missile system used by the Indian Armed Forces, Indian Army, Indian Navy & Indian Air Force. It is a is a precision strike weapon for the Indian Armed Forces as the margin of error is very less. This is a universal missile and can be launched from Ships, Mobile Launchers, Submarines and Aircraft.
BrahMos is an accurate weapon, reliable, relatively easy to operate, fast reaction time and no known countermeasures. It has a range of 290 km and a 600 km version is being developed. It flies at supersonic speed all through the flight. This consistent speed ensures that there is minimal reaction time for the opponents. It can also engage land or naval targets beyond the horizon. Its speed ensures shorter flight time resulting in lower target dispersion and quicker engagement.
