Course Objective

  • Understand principles of design of combat systems.
  • Learn how to design, build, and maintain systems that control different kinds of weapons, including nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons.
  • Understand sensor systems, such as radar and sonar Engineering principles to the design of combat systems with emphasis on detection, tracking, and identification systems
  • Threat Spectrum, Battle Field Environment
  • Vehicle Configuration, Man Machine Interface
  • Sensor technologies (radars, ESM, active and passive sonar, infrared, electro-optical, and magnetic/electric/gravity field sensors).
  • Introduction to information warfare and weapons (including electronic warfare)
  • Directed energy weapons, weapons of mass destruction (nuclear, chemical, biological, and radiological), and nonlethal weapons
